Natural Areas Training Academy Graduate Profiles

Stefanie received a BS in 1997 in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the School of Forest Resources and Conservation at the University of Florida.  In 2001, she received an MS in Interdisciplinary Ecology from the College of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Florida.

She has worked with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission since January 2002 on various projects involving rare plants and animals, exotic species control, and natural community restoration.  Stefanie has recently been promoted as the FWC State Restoration Ecologist where her duties are to coordinate hydrologic restoration, groundcover restoration, and exotic species control projects on all FWC owned lands (1.4 million acres and growing).

Stefanie received a Certificate in Natural Areas Management in 2006 from The Natural Areas Training Academy. Stefanie says, “The knowledge gained from every NATA course I have taken has been used in some aspect of my job.  These courses are truly for land managers and clearly have applicable value.”
